Report: Tyler Eifert re-signs with Bengals on 1-year deal

It’s another prove-it deal for Tyler Eifert with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Saturday, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the tight end will get another year to stick with the Bengals. This comes after the new Zac Taylor-led staff first brought back C.J. Uzomah while Eifert tested the open market.

Eifert, a first-round pick in 2013, played in 15 games as a rookie before his struggles began. He’s played in one, 13, eight, two and four games since. During the outlier, he scored 13 touchdowns over 13 games, hence why teams keep bringing him back.

A season ago, Eifert made it to Game 4 in Atlanta before suffering a leg injury that sent him back to injured reserve. It wasn’t considered as serious as the routine back issues Eifert had battled since college.
