Report: Trey Flowers undergoes minor shoulder surgery

New England Patriots defensive end Trey Flowers underwent a minor shoulder surgery, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss. Reiss qualified the procedure as a “clean-up” surgery.

Flowers played 15 regular season games in 2018, with a concussion taking him out of Week 3. He didn’t miss any of the team’s postseason games. He logged 57 tackles and led the team with 7.5 sacks. He has been the team’s sack leader for the last three seasons.

Flowers is on an expiring contract, and is scheduled to enter free agency for the 2019 offseason, which opens mid March.
