Report: Trevor Bauer Signs With Japan’s Yokohama DeNA BayStars

Former Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer is reportedly set to continue his baseball career overseas in Japan. According to Yuki Yamada of Sankei Sports, Bauer is in agreement on a one-year deal with the Yokohama DeNA BayStars of Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball.

The 32-year-old is reportedly signing a one-year, $4 million deal with the Japanese club following his recent exit from Los Angeles.

Bauer was released by the Dodgers in January after being reinstated by MLB following his serving of a 194-game suspension (which was reduced from 324 games) for violating the league’s joint domestic violence policy.

After parting ways with L.A., Bauer failed to reach an agreement with another MLB team, instead landing with the BayStars. It’s just a one-year deal for Bauer, though he has not indicated what his plans are beyond the 2023 season. He has not pitched in MLB since ’21, when he made 17 appearances for the Dodgers after signing a three-year, $102 million deal.
