Report: Trent Williams could return to Washington before Week 2

It appears that there may be some movement on the Trent Williams’ front in Washington, with NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport saying that Williams could return to the team “sooner rather than later.”

On Tuesday morning, Rapoport said on NFL Network that it’s his understanding is that Williams could potentially return to the team as soon as next week, while the ship has sailed on him returning for the opening game of the season.

“There is a possibility, from what I understand, that he could come back next week,” said Rapoport. “Which would mean that the Redskins, who have rebuffed all trade talk, and really everything this entire offseason, may actually get their wish, and get their franchise left tackle to actually show up and play.”

There is yet to be any news about this from the team, or Trent Williams himself, but if Rapoport and other NFL sources are hearing this buzz, there’s a good chance it’s real.
