Report: Tom Brady’s future with Patriots ‘truly is a wait-and-see’ situation

Tom Brady’s future with the New England Patriots is truly a mystery at this point, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss.

The 42 year old quarterback is coming off one of his worst statistical seasons and has yet to reveal his future plans with the Patriots. Either he stays, retires or brings his talents elsewhere. Each of these options seem to be viable at this point and no one has any real indication on which decision he makes.

Brady cannot be franchise tagged and his contract is up this season, so a tough decision will be made once the season ends. Reiss reported that the Patriots are putting this situation ‘in a drawer’ and will open it when the season ends.

The Patriots will face the Tennessee Titans in the AFC wild-card round on Saturday and it could possibly be Brady’s last home game in Gillette Stadium. Regardless of the outcome, Reiss predicts the crowd will roar a strong ‘Brady’ chant when the game finishes.

Brady provided the Patriots with six championships and nine Super Bowl appearances, so his decision must be respected. Similar to Rob Gronkowski last year — only time will tell whether or not No. 12 will continue his NFL career as a Patriot.
