Report: Tom Brady, Michael Bennett not attending voluntary conditioning sessions

The New England Patriots won’t have two notable stars in attendance for their conditioning sessions, according to ESPN’s Field Yates. Both quarterback Tom Brady and defensive end Michael Bennett have elected not to attend the voluntary workouts, which began on Monday.

For Brady, this is the second consecutive year he has missed the sessions. He has instead chosen to spend more time with his family while working out independently. There’s little doubt that Brady, 41, knows how to take care of himself at this point in his career. Six Super Bowls likely haven’t dulled his love for the game.

Bennett, meanwhile, will stay in Hawaii, where he lives in the NFL offseason. He joined the team during the 2019 offseason in a trade. The Patriots acquired him from the Philadelphia Eagles, and within a month, the two parties had agreed to a new contract, which gave Bennett a raise. It’s unclear if Bennett will join the Patriots at a later date during the voluntary workout sessions.
