Report: Titans trainer has tested positive for COVID-19

The Tennessee Titans have received a new positive COVID-19 test in the days leading up to their wild-card game versus the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the positive test came from the team’s trainer on Wednesday. The Titans are now in the midst of contact tracing, but their facility remains open.

The Titans did not have a full practice on Wednesday, instead opting for a walkthrough, according to Broadway Sports’ John Glennon.

Since experiencing the first outbreak of any team in 2020 earlier this season, the Titans have been relatively COVID-free, with the exception of some players being placed on the COVID-19 list here and there.

Last week, punter Brett Kern and kicker Stephen Gostkowski were placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, but Kern was activated off it prior to the Week 17 game versus the Houston Texans. Gostkowski, on the other hand, remains.

Obviously this latest test is a cause for concern at the moment, but the Titans should be fine as long as a flurry of positives don’t show up in the coming days.
