Report: Titans’ Taylor Lewan avoided major injury in Week 3

Tennessee Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan suffered a shoulder injury that knocked him out of the Week 3 game against the Minnesota Vikings after 18 snaps, but it appears it isn’t serious.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Lewan’s injury isn’t major, but it’s still too early to tell if he’ll play in Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers — that is, assuming the game is actually played after the Titans had an outbreak of COVID-19.

While the star left tackle’s presence in the lineup is always important, that’s even more so the case in Week 4.

The Steelers sport an elite pass rush that leads the NFL in sacks with 15 and has two studs at outside linebacker in T.J. Watt and Bud Dupree.

If Lewan can’t go, the Titans will likely deploy swing tackle Ty Sambrailo in his place. Sambrailo was substituted in for Lewan in Week 3, and he also played at left tackle in Week 1 when Lewan missed 11 snaps.
