Report: Titans ‘remain unsure’ of Taylor Lewan’s status after injury

After suffering a shoulder injury that knocked him out after just 18 snaps during the Tennessee Titans’ Week 3 win over the Minnesota Vikings, left tackle Taylor Lewan’s status remains up in the air.

According to Titans beat writer Paul Kuharsky, the team “remains unsure” of Lewan’s situation as of Monday morning.

Injury updates from head coach Mike Vrabel are rare to say the least, so don’t expect to get any semblance of clarity on this until the Titans release their first injury report of the week on Wednesday.

This is potentially a huge issue for the Titans, as their Week 4 opponent, the Pittsburgh Steelers, sport an elite pass rush that leads the NFL in sacks through three games.

Swing tackle Ty Sambrailo does deserve some credit for doing a solid job in Lewan’s place when called upon, but he simply can’t replicate what the star left tackle can do, and we’ll likely see that first hand if Lewan doesn’t play on Sunday.
