Report: Titans not interested in Tom Brady, working to get deal done with Ryan Tannehill

A new report has shot down the chance of the Tennessee Titans signing Tom Brady.

According to ESPN’s Dianna Russini, the Titans are not interested in Brady and instead are working on a long-term deal with their 2019 quarterback, Ryan Tannehill.

Rumors and speculation have been running wild this offseason about Brady and the Titans possibly being a match, partially because the future Hall of Famer’s friend, Mike Vrabel, is Tennessee’s head coach.

But a move to sign Brady didn’t really add up for the Titans after Tannehill posted his best season as a pro in 2019 and helped turn the Titans’ season around after a 2-4 start.

Signing Brady would have been a risky move for a few reasons.

Bringing in a new quarterback would have been a massive change for an offense that had a lot of success with Tannehill and a team that nearly made it to the Super Bowl in 2019.

On top of that, Brady will be 43 when the 2020 season begins.

Should the Titans and Tannehill have a problem getting a deal done, Tennessee could opt to use the franchise tag on the signal-caller.

Per Spotrac, Tannehill’s market value comes in at $26.6 million annually with a three-year, $79.9 million deal.
