Report: Titans decline RT Jack Conklin’s fifth-year option

The Tennessee Titans have decided to pass on right tackle Jack Conklin’s fifth-year option, per a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Titans originally selected Conklin with the eighth overall pick in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He started every game in his first two seasons but tore his ACL in a playoff loss to the Patriots in January 2018.

He missed the first three games of the 2018 season, missed another with a concussion and then found himself on injured reserve with a knee injury toward the end of the season.

Conklin hasn’t quite been the same player since the ACL tear, and fellow offensive lineman Dennis Kelly was more than adequate in his relief.

It will be interesting to see where the Titans go at right tackle as they continue to try to solve their issues on the offensive line as a whole.
