Report: Titans’ A.J. Brown gets good news on initial rib X-rays

For now, it appears Tennessee Titans wide receiver A.J. Brown has avoided any kind of serious injury to his chest after exiting the Week 11 contest against the Houston Texans early.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Brown’s initial X-rays on his ribs came back negative. However, Rapoport does note that Brown is set to undergo more tests on Monday, so he isn’t out of the woods yet.

Brown, who also missed snaps with a hand injury suffered in the first quarter, was knocked out of the game after 42 snaps. He finished with five catches for 48 yards in the losing effort.

The 24-year-old wideout wasn’t the only Titans receiver to come down with an injury, though. Fellow wideout Marcus Johnson came up limping after tweaking his hamstring, forcing his early exit after just 14 snaps.

Already short-handed on offense with Derrick Henry and Julio Jones on IR, the Titans can ill-afford to be without two more receivers, and Brown especially.
