Oklahoma City Thunder center Al Horford will reportedly once again sit on the second night of a back-to-back.
Horford will not play against the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night, according to The Oklahoman’s Joe Mussatto. The veteran played 29 minutes on Tuesday night in the loss to the San Antonio Spurs.
This is the second time the Thunder have played on back-to-back nights this season. Horford also sat the second night of the first one, a game that Oklahoma City lost to the Orlando Magic.
Horford is averaging 11.1 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 27.1 minutes per game.
When Horford missed the game against the Magic, Isaiah Roby started in his spot. Roby has had a solid year so far, averaging 7.9 points and 4.0 rebounds in 16.9 minutes per game and has made five of the 12 3-pointers he has attempted.
It would be unsurprising to see Roby get the start, as head coach Mark Daigneault made a concerted effort to get him time in the last two games. The second-year forward played 19 minutes against the Brooklyn Nets and 13 against the San Antonio Spurs.
Los Angeles Lakers stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis were listed on the injury report as questionable while wing Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is probable.
The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
