Report: Thunder agree to deal with Alec Burks

The Oklahoma City Thunder may have found themselves the veteran shooter they needed to come off the bench.

According to Royce Young of ESPN, the Oklahoma City Thunder have agreed to a deal with shooting guard Alec Burks.

Burks was selected by the Utah Jazz as the 12th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. He stayed with the Jazz into the 2018-19 season, then went to the Cleveland Cavaliers, then the Sacramento Kings.

As Young points out, Burks is a career 35.5 percent three-point shooter. He’s averaged 9.5 points per game on 21.1 minutes a night. Though, per 36 minutes, Burks averages 16.3 points.

Burks battled a chip fracture in his left hand in the 2018-19 season. He missed 50 games in 2015-16 after he fractured his left fibula. Burks also had arthroscopic surgery on his left ankle in November of 2016.

No further details about Burks’ agreement with the Thunder have been reported.
