Report: Texans working out former Cardinals, Raiders receiver J.J. Nelson

The Houston Texans are bringing in former Arizona Cardinals and Oakland Raiders receiver J.J. Nelson for a workout.

According to the Houston Chronicle’s Aaron Wilson, the club has decided to give the former 2015 fifth-round pick a look to see if he can help their roster that is currently down a receiver with No. 2 wideout Will Fuller expected to miss several weeks with a hamstring injury.

Nelson produced four catches for 36 yards and a touchdown on five targets through his 52 offensive snaps with the Raiders in two games. Oakland released the former UAB Blazer on Oct. 10.

The 5-10, 160-pound receiver has caught 85 passes for 1,475 yards and 11 touchdowns in his 58 career games, 16 of which he started.
