Report: Texans offered different terms to Eagles in DeAndre Hopkins trade

The Houston Texans had a different trade package in mind when they were dealing with the Philadelphia Eagles during the DeAndre Hopkins trade.

According to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman told Philadelphia reporters on a conference call that the Texans offered them different terms and conditions in their shopping of Hopkins, different from the package offered to the Arizona Cardinals of a player, a 2020 second-round pick, and a 2021 fourth-round pick.

Were the Texans looking for another player in the trade? Were the Texans hoping to score a first-round pick? Whatever the case, Roseman wasn’t going to agree to coach and general manager Bill O’Brien’s terms.

The Texans ultimately traded Hopkins and their 2020 fourth-round pick to the Cardinals for All-Pro running back David Johnson and received Arizona’s 2020 second-round pick and 2021 fourth-round pick in return.

With the loss of Hopkins, the Texans’ receiving corps consists of Randall Cobb, Keke Coutee, Steven Mitchell, DeAndre Carter, Will Fuller, and Kenny Stills.
