Report: Texans interested in former Falcons offensive tackle Ryan Schraeder

With the first waves of free agency madness now well and truly out of the way, the storms have settled and just a few high profile names remain unclaimed.

The Houston Texans may have been quiet up until now, signing free agent defensive backs Tashaun Gipson, Briean Boddy-Calhoun, and Bradley Roby to three, one, and one-year contracts respectively — hardly wave making moves.

However, it would appear that general manager Brian Gaine may well be set to dip into the coin purse once again, with the Texans reportedly interested in signing veteran offensive lineman Ryan Schraeder.

The 30-year-old right tackle has been with the Atlanta Falcons since he entered the NFL back in 2013. In that time he has made 88 appearances, 73 of which were starts. A Pro Football Focus All-Pro back in 2015, the undrafted free agent was, according to PFF, the 54th ranked qualifying tackle in the league last year with a grade of 63.6.

Schraeder may be heading for the twilight of his career, but bringing in a veteran to support and help bridge the gap for the offensive linemen they will inevitably be drafting in this year may be a solid move.
