Report: Texans ink DE Angelo Blackson to 3-year deal

The Houston Texans are still trying to keep as many of their players with expired contracts in house, and the latest corralling is the signing of defensive end Angelo Blackson.

According to Adam Caplan, the Texans have signed the former 2015 fourth-round pick from the Tennessee Titans to a three-year, $12 million deal.

Keeping him on the books doesn’t come as a surprise given his knowledge of the system after two years in Houston and 25 regular season appearances. The 26-year old former fourth-round pick out of Auburn is now contracted to the Texans until 2021.

As a result of this deal, it seems more likely that the Texans will let Christian Covington go in order to bring in a more value for money rookie. Covington plays a little defensive end and has been with the Texans since 2015.
