Report: Texans hosting cornerback Jason Verrett for a visit

It is clear what the Houston Texans’ strategy is: Upgrade the secondary in free agency.

The latest move from the reigning AFC South champions is to arrange a visit cornerback Jason Verrett, a former 2014 first-round pick of the Chargers.

The former TCU Horned Frog has played in five games in the past two seasons and 25 in his career out of a possible 80. After a Pro Bowl season in 2015, Verrett has battled knee injuries and a torn Achilles. Clearly, the Texans want to see how well Verrett can play and if the cornerback, who will be 28 on June 18, still has anything left in the tank.
