Report: Texans fear DE J.J. Watt may have a torn pectoral and is out for the season

The Houston Texans had a pyrrhic victory in their 27-24 win over the Oakland Raiders Sunday afternoon at NRG Stadium.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the team fears that defensive end J.J. Watt may have sustained a torn pectoral, which would knock him out for the season. An MRI will be conducted to know the full extent of his injury.

The Texans go to London for Week 9 to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars to close out their season series with their AFC South rivals, and will have a bye week thereafter.

In Week 11, the Texans get back in action at the Baltimore Ravens and then have a quick turnaround to host the Indianapolis Colts in Week 12 on Thursday night.

Houston will turn to rookie defensive end Charles Omenihu and veterans Carlos Watkins and Angelo Blackson to fill in for Watt as he recovers.

Watt collected three combined tackles, a tackle for loss, and a pass breakup against the Raiders.
