Report: Terry McLaurin to try and play with high-ankle sprain vs. Eagles

Washington star wide receiver Terry McLaurin is listed as questionable on the injury report for the Week 17 win-or-go-home game against the Philadelphia Eagles, but a report from The Washington Post‘s Nicki Jhabvala says that the second-year player is going to attempt to play.

McLaurin missed last week’s game with the ankle sprain, and he has been hobbled by it for several weeks now but continues to gut through it. The report from Jhabvala shows that McLaurin knows how important this game is, and is going to do what he can to help his team reach its first postseason since 2015.

While McLaurin may be limited, his presence on the field will have a significant impact on the offense. If opposing defenses are forced to at least give some attention to him, it will help open up other receivers like Logan Thomas, Cam Sims, and Robert Foster. With a threat like No. 17 on the field, all other players have more space to work.
