Report: Teams calling Texans about DeAndre Hopkins, but he’s not on the trade block

The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday, and some teams are willing to pull off any crazy machinations to save their Super Bowl aspirations.

According to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, teams have been calling the Houston Texans about the possibility of trading All-Pro receiver DeAndre Hopkins. Keep in mind that Hopkins is not on the trading block and the Texans have Super Bowl aspirations of their own, and they wouldn’t be able to get as far without Hopkins.

For teams to make these types of calls about Hopkins indicates that the trade deadline is nearing. It isn’t surprising for teams to ask because anything could be possible. Adding an All-Pro talent such as Hopkins would help any team immediately, even if they didn’t have a decent quarterback under center as Hopkins earned one of his All-Pros in 2017, a year where he played just seven games with Deshaun Watson and the other nine with Tom Savage and T.J. Yates.
