Report: Taylor Decker ‘not likely’ to play vs. Chargers

Starting left tackle Taylor Decker is poised to miss the Detroit Lions home opener in Week 2 against the Los Angeles Chargers. An early Sunday report from NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport declares the left tackle will likely miss the game with his balky back.

Decker has been limited all week with a back issue and is officially listed as questionable after Friday’s practice. The source of the injury is not disclosed, but Decker did play every snap in the opening tie in Arizona.

He did not play well vs. the Cardinals, uncharacteristically slow to react to the rush. If Decker is indeed out, second-year Tyrell Crosby figures to take over at left tackle while Rick Wagner remains ensconced at right tackle.
