Report: T.J. Lang thinking about retiring after being cut by the Lions

Now that he is no longer a Detroit Lion, T.J. Lang is evaluating whether he wants to try and continue playing in the NFL. Per Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, the 31-year-old Lang is contemplating retirement.

Birkett also notes the team did not give Lang any option to remain,

A person involved with the move said Lang and the Lions did not discuss staying at a lesser salary, though Lang said he was open to that option after the season.

Lang took the move in stride:

My personal hope is Lang does retire. His concussion (pictured above) versus Dallas is one of the scariest, saddest things I’ve ever seen on a football field. It was also his third since joining the Lions in 2017.
