Report: T.J. Lang is expected to announce his retirement

Recently released Lions right guard T.J. Lang is expected to retire from the NFL.

Per a report from Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, Lang has told several people close to him that he intends to announce his retirement in the very near future.

Lang suffered two concussions during the 2018 season, increasing his career total to six. His brain injury suffered against the Cowboys was one of the scariest reactions I’ve seen in 15 years of covering the NFL. He suffered several other injuries in his two seasons in Detroit, his hometown.

The 31-year old from Eastern Michigan played well when on the field, but staying healthy was a problem. He joined the Lions as a free agent after spending his first several seasons with the Green Bay Packers. Lang made the Pro Bowl at right guard in his first season in Detroit.
