The Golden State Warriors have reportedly locked up their four-time NBA championship coach to a new contract extension.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Steve Kerr has agreed to a two-year, $35 million contract extension. Kerr’s new contract at $17.5 million a year will make him the highest-paid coach in NBA history.

Kerr, who was initially in the final year of his contract in Golden State, is now committed to the Warriors through the 2025-26 season. Kerr has been the head coach of the Warriors since 2014, taking over for Mark Jackson.
Since reigning the sideline in the Bay Area, Kerr has tallied a 501-264 regular-season record with the Warriors while winning four NBA championships. Kerr is currently only trailing Al Attles (557) for the most wins in Warriors history. Kerr was named NBA Coach of the Year in 2016. During the NBA’s 75-year anniversary celebration, Kerr was named one of the 15 greatest coaches in league history.
