Report: Steph Curry scheduled to be re-evaluated Friday before return

Stephen Curry has checked off many boxes when it comes to his broken left-hand rehab. The former Most Valuable Player has only played in four games all season. Yet as his rehab progresses to the final stages, his return is near.

Curry’s been traveling with his teammates on the road and participating in pregame warmups with the Warriors coaching staff. At practice, Curry has been shooting without any type of brace and has been taking part in full-contact scrimmages.

Sunday, March 1 has been the long-discussed target date for Curry’s return, but before he is officially cleared, the six-time All-Star will have one final test.

According to Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle, Curry will be re-evaluated by Golden State on Friday.

How Curry’s hand responds to Friday’s evaluation could be the key to his return. After his assessment, Golden State will play a weekend back-to-back at Chase Center in San Francisco against the Phoenix Suns and Washington Wizards.

If Curry can return by the targeted March 1 game against the Wizards, the Golden State point guard will have 22 games remaining on the 2019-20 schedule.
