Report: Steph Curry partners with golf manufacturer Callaway

With his elite shooting, Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry has helped change the game of basketball. On Monday, though, Curry announced how he’s working to help change another sport.

Curry posted news on Twitter of his partnership with golf manufacturer Callaway. Curry tweeted his partnership with Callaway will work to “bring the game to underserved and underrepresented youth.” The partnership is a multi-year deal, per Callaway’s Twitter account.

As part of the deal, Callaway will provide golf equipment for Howard University’s men’s and women’s teams, per Yahoo Sports. During August, Curry donated money to re-establish Howard’s two golf programs.

This isn’t the beginning of Curry getting into golf. An avid golfer, Curry played at the Safeway Open Pro-Am in September. Curry has also played in golf tournaments such as the Ellie Mae Classic.

With Curry trying to help expand the game, he could potentially be a leader in the golf game becoming more diverse. According to African American Golfer’s Digest, there have only been 30 black golfers to play on the PGA Tour.

The Warriors will begin their regular season Thursday at home against the Los Angeles Clippers.
