Report: Steph Curry and Klay Thompson linked up for a recent workout together

It’s been five months since the Golden State Warriors tipped off for an NBA game. However, it’s been even longer since the Splash Brothers took the court together.

The last time Steph Curry and Klay Thompson were in the same lineup was game six of the NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors on June 13, 2019.

Injuries and the coronavirus pandemic pulled the pair of All-Star guards from the court for Golden State’s entire 2019-20 campaign. Thompson was ruled out for the season as he rehabbed the knee injury he suffered in the 2019 Finals. Curry’s season was limited to only five games after he endured a hand injury in late October. The two-time MVP’s return from injury was limited to only one game before the season was put on hold due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

While the postseason is set to begin in the NBA’s Orlando Bubble, the backcourt duo is busy preparing for their return to Golden State’s lineup. According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, with Curry healthy and Thompson’s knee medically cleared, the tandem linked up for a recent workout.

Via Yahoo! Sports:

Golden State Warriors star guard Klay Thompson is recovering well from the torn left ACL he suffered in last year’s NBA Finals. Thompson was cleared without restrictions in June.

He’s working out, for the most part, in Orange County, and sources said he even had a workout with Splash Brother Stephen Curry. If the 2020-21 season were to start in December, Thompson will have had about 17 months of rehab under his belt.

With an extended offseason on the calendar, the Splash Brothers will have plenty of time to work on the court together. If the league approves a plan for in-market bubbles for the teams on the outside of the Disney World restart, Curry and Thompson will have the opportunity to join Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins and the rest of the Warriors roster for practice.
