Report: Steelers WR James Washington could miss several weeks with injury

The Pittsburgh Steelers could be shorthanded at wide receiver for some time. NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport is reporting Steelers WR James Washington could miss a few weeks because of the shoulder injury he suffered on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.

Without Washington, the Steelers need to find a third wide receiver for the rotation. JuJu Smith-Schuster and Diontae Johnson are the starters, but who will step up as that third target? Donte Moncrief has been a healthy scratch in two games this season but should have a good chance for increased reps against the Chargers in Week 6.

The other wide receivers on the depth chart, Johnny Holton and Ryan Switzer, have been complete nonfactors in the offense. The Steelers might want to consider bringing in a free agent this week to bolster depth.
