Report: Steelers WR Antonio Brown has no plans to meet with Art Rooney II

According to NFL reporter Ian Rapoport, Pittsburgh Steelers president Art Rooney II is currently in Florida. While down there, Rooney is hoping to meet with disgruntled wide receiver Antonio Brown. But according to Rapoport, Brown has no intention of meeting with Rooney and is choosing to address the issue only via social media.

Whether or not Brown can be convinced to drop his trade demand, refusing to meet at all is bad optics on an already ugly situation. This feels like a guy who knows he’s dug himself a hole and can’t find his way out of it. If he had anything to bring to the table in a conversation with Rooney he would probably meet to clear the air if nothing else.

Pittsburgh and Brown are currently at an impasse. Brown wants a trade, the Steelers haven’t given him permission to pursue one. He’s under contract through the 2021 season. Having said that, Brown could make himself complete disposable by continuing to be a social media nuisance.
