Report: Steelers have not given Antonio Brown permission to seek trade

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown sat down and met with team president Art Rooney II on Tuesday to talk about the issues Brown has and his future with the team. According to Brown, the sides have agreed to part ways, but NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport said the team has not given Brown or his agent permission to start speaking to teams.

Does this mean Brown’s agent Drew Rosenhaus won’t do it? Of course not. And Brown is doing a great job of promoting himself to all the other 31 teams in the league on social media.

In addition, Brown and Rosenhaus can speak to all the teams they like, but it will be the Steelers who ultimately decide Brown’s fate. They can take the information they gather to Pittsburgh but all the power in this offseason belongs to the Steelers. The Steelers may choose never to give Brown and Rosenhaus permission and simply handle it themselves.
