Report: Steelers getting calls about QB Mason Rudolph

According to NFL reporter Tom Pelissero, the Pittsburgh Steelers have gotten calls from teams looking to trade for No. 3 quarterback Mason Rudolph. According to Pelissero, Pittsburgh is holding off for now, probably waiting for the right offer.

Rudolph had a strong preseason finishing with 220 passing yards, best on the team on 26-for-39 passing.

Pittsburgh kept Rudolph in the mix during training camp and the preseason but it because clear pretty quickly he was not in serious consideration for the starting job ahead of either Mitch Trubisky or Kenny Pickett. Pittsburgh has some roster holes that need to be filling before the start of the season at offensive tackle and edge rusher. The Steelers might be looking for a player for player trade to ship off Rudolph and improve one of those positions.
