According to Pittsburgh Steelers beat writer Gerry Dulac, the trade between the Steelers and Oakland Raiders isn’t final until it’s final and hinted the team isn’t going to stop working on a better deal between now and March 13.
It would be somewhat unprecedented for a trade this big to not happen once all sides have worked it out in principle but the source is absolutely right. No trade can be finalized before the start of the league year. That would be Wednesday, March 13.
So basically what the team is saying through Dulac is please offer us something better and still be willing to give Brown the ridiculous amount of guaranteed money he wants. It’s highly unlikely this happens. With the financials out there no team in their right mind would get in there and top it.
