Report: Sherels picks Saints over Vikings to chase Super Bowl

It was reported on Thursday afternoon that former Vikings punt returner Marcus Sherels was going to sign with the Saints after nine seasons in Minnesota.

The reason?

Per Chris Tomasson, it’s to chase a Super Bowl.

That has to hurt the ego and feelings of Vikings fans. This team is just two years removed from the NFC Championship, beating the Saints to get there.

But the Vikings have taken a step back since then, failing to make the playoffs last season, while the Saints finished the season 13-3. The Saints, though, lost in the NFC Championship to the Rams in a thriller.

Things don’t always work out the way people think they should, though. Many pegged the Vikings as the Super Bowl favorite heading into the 2018 season.

Obviously in 2019, Sherels thinks the Saints have a better chance to win than the Vikings.

Vikings fans can cheer for, as petty as it might be, that Sherels might have made the wrong decision and the Vikings will finish better than the Saints in 2019.

The Saints have 8/1 odds to win the Super Bowl, while the Vikings have 16/1 odds.
