Report: Several Texans, Cowboys players test positive for COVID-19

The struggle for the NFL to return to normal and put the global pandemic in the rearview mirror took a hit with Monday’s news that several players from the Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys tested positive for COVID-19.

A report from Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero from the NFL Network states that players from both teams tested positive but none were at their respective team facilities. Texas has been one of the most liberal states at relaxing interpersonal contact rules and business restrictions based on the coronavirus pandemic.

The report notes that both teams correctly followed protocols. There is no immediate word on the health status of any of the players.

It’s another setback for the ability to try and reconvene as a team for all the NFL franchises.
