Report: Several Cowboys players tested positive for COVID-19

In news that could have ramifications for NFL clubs trying to move forward with the 2020 season, Ian Rapoport is reporting that several Dallas Cowboys and several Houston Texans players have tested positive for the coronavirus.

According to Rapoport via agent Rocky Arceneaux, star Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott is among the group.

None of the players are believed to have been in their team facilities and both organizations followed proper health protocols, Rapoport added.

The NFL recently issued a set of protocols to its 32 teams detailing plans for players to safely return to team facilities.

Coaches around the league had previously been allowed to return to work last week.

Denver Broncos defensive end Von Miller tested positive for COVID-19 as did Los Angeles Rams center Brian Allen in April.
