Report: Saints schedule free agent visit with Ezekiel Ansah

The New Orleans Saints are moving quickly to add to their pass rush rotation. Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Saints scheduled a visit with former Detroit Lions first round pick and free agent defensive end Ezekiel Ansah, who also goes by Ziggy. Ansah will meet first with the Buffalo Bills before his scheduled meeting in New Orleans.

Ansah played out the 2018 campaign on the franchise tag for Detroit, but his season ended with a shoulder injury. Before that, he recorded four sacks and seven quarterback hits in just seven games — numbers that compare well to those put up by Alex Okafor, the Saints’ third defensive end last season. At 6-foot-5, 275-pounds with long arms, Ansah would fit the Saints’ prototype for the position with Cameron Jordan and Marcus Davenport.

But, first, he needs to meet with the Bills and see what they’re offering him. This could very well end up being nothing more than the Saints expressing interest.
