REPORT: Saints expected to sign former Raiders TE Jared Cook

The Oakland Raiders have made a lot of moves this offseason improving their roster. But today, they lost one of their best players from the 2018 season in free agency.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the New Orleans Saints are expected to sign free agent tight end Jared Cook to a deal.

Cook (31) led the Raiders in receptions (68), receiving yards (896) and touchdowns (6) in 2018 as he made the first Pro Bowl of his career. It’s going to be difficult for the team to replace his production right away.

Without Cook on the roster, the Raiders’ depth chart at the position needs some work. Currently, Lee Smith is the team’s top tight end while Darren Waller backs him up. Expect the Raiders to address the issue in the 2019 NFL Draft.
