Report: S Josh Jones to visit Vikings Friday

The Vikings could pick up a player from their rival.

Per Rob Demovsky, the Vikings will host former Packers safety Josh Jones on Friday.

If Jones doesn’t reach a deal with the Vikings, he’ll visit the Detroit Lions next week.

Jones, 24, was a 2017 second-round pick out of North Carolina State.

Obviously getting released by the Packers two years after being drafted in the second round isn’t a great look for Jones, but it’s also worth noting that he was drafted in the second round for a reason.

The Vikings don’t exactly need depth at safety with Harrison Smith and Anthony Harris, but maybe Mike Zimmer – a defensive back whisperer, can help turn Jones’ career around if he is signed.
