Report: Rockets sign Ben McLemore to a partially guaranteed deal

The Houston Rockets have already made their big move of the offseason acquiring superstar Russell Westbrook from the Oklahoma City Thunder. Now is the time to add some bench depth and fill out the team.

According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the Rockets are signing Ben McLemore on a partially guaranteed 2-year deal. He was the 7th overall pick in the 2013 draft and he has had a tough time finding his footing in the league.

He averaged 3.9 points and 0.9 rebounds while playing in only 19 games in 2018-19 in his second tour of duty with the Sacramento Kings. He has career averages of 8.8 points and 2.5 rebounds and a career 35.3 percent shooter from deep.

McLemore is hoping to show off more of the potential that made him a top 10 pick in 2013. Having an exact role in Houston of being a catch-and-shoot player to spread the floor for Westbrook and James Harden to operate should be able to give his career some life.
