Report: Robert Kraft, attorney want to permanently seal spa video

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft won a huge victory on Monday by getting the Orchids of Asia day spa videos suppressed,  as a judge ruled prosecutors could not use ha piece of evidence in court.  Now, Kraft is doing all he can to make sure the videos are never seen by anyone.

According to Deadspin, Kraft’s attorney is now filing a motion that states because the video was obtained illegally the public has no right to see it.

Here is what Kraft’s attorney said in the filed motion.

“Now that the Court has concluded that the Videos were illegally obtained and subject to suppression, it follows that the public has no right to access these materials—which materials never should have never come into existence in the first place. As such, the Court has ‘good cause’ under Florida Rule of Criminal Procedure to modify the scope of the Protective Order for the sake of dispelling any doubt that State is permanently prohibited from releasing the same Videos that it had no legal basis to obtain, much less to retain and release.”

Kraft and his attorney know that if the state attorney’s office decides to drop the case they can then try and sell the videos to different media outlets that have requested the footage. If the motion is approved, the state attorney’s office will not have the right to do that.
