Report: Rob Gronkowski’s thigh injury required special treatment

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski’s thigh injury isn’t expected to have any long term issues, according to NFL Network’s Mike Giardi. The injury has required special treatment, including getting fluid drained from the area.

He suffered the injury during Super Bowl LIII when he took a low hits from Rams defenders Mark Barron and Cory Littleton.

After taking the blow, he admitted the injury felt severe

“Yeah, my quad. It hurts a lot. I can barely walk right now,” Gronk said after the game. “Adrenaline is flowing throughout the game. It’s the Super Bowl. I’ve had had these quad shots about four times now. Probably won’t be able to walk that good tomorrow. But it’s all good. We’re Super Bowl champs.”

He didn’t seem to have a hitch in his gait during the Super Bowl parade, which took place on the day after the game, but Gronk had to delay his appearance on “The Jimmy Fallon Show” by one day due to the injury.
