A new report comparing various British festivals has revealed that just 12% of the Leeds Festival 2019 lineup is female.
The study by Ann's Cottage has analysed a number of different criteria, including the 'most Googled festivals', 'most common festival acts' and 'festival gender split'.
Whilst 12% of the Leeds Festival lineup is female, the gender split of the Download Festival lineup sits at a tiny 3% of female acts, making it the least representative of those surveyed.
Latitude was the festival to get the closest to a 50/50 split, with 40% of the acts on their lineup being female.
Leeds and Reading Festival are the joint 6th most representative festival out of the 22 surveyed.
LeedsLive spoke to Festival Republic lead booker Jon Mac about the gender split at the launch event for this year's event.
"I think we’ve got a great balance of both genre and gender." he said.
"In terms female artists, or acts with female members, we’ve got easily one of the best line ups in the UK this year and I’d argue that with anyone.
"There’s always fantastic female talent to book. I’m always focused on booking talent regardless of gender or genre at the right time on the right stage.
"Look at our line up this year and the female talent it is exciting stuff. For example, Distillers, Billie Ellish, Charlie XCX etc."

Adult full weekend tickets cost £205 with a £16.40 booking fee.
