Report reveals amount Sheffield United said to have bid for Nottingham Forest ace Ben Osborn

Sheffield United are said to have made a move for Nottingham Forest midfielder Ben Osborn – and now the amount they have reportedly put on the table has been revealed.

On Monday night, reports suggested the newly-promoted Premier League side had made a “surprise (lowish) offer” for the versatile youngster.

And The Sun claim the bid which has been put on the table for the Reds to consider is £3m.

The report says: “Osborn could get a crack at the top-flight if the fee is accepted.

“But Forest want around twice as much for the 24-year-old who is in the last year of his contract.”

Chris Wilder’s Blades are looking to strengthen their ranks as they prepare for their return to the Premier League – and it is said Osborn is on their radar.

The Nigel Doughty Academy product has been a regular in the Reds’ first-team since making his breakthrough in 2014.

Able to play in a variety of roles – including at left-back - his versatility has served him well under various different managers.

He was crowned Player of the Season in 2018 and has made more than 200 appearances for the Championship club.

Last term, under Aitor Karanka and then Martin O’Neill, he featured 44 times, scoring twice – against Stoke City and Leeds United.
