Report: Retired Patriots RB Shane Vereen joins Fox Sports

Retired New England Patriots running back Shane Vereen will be joining the Fox Sports broadcast team for its college football game coverage, according to The New York Daily News’ Andrew Marchand. Vereen will work with returning broadcasters Justin Kutcher and Petros Papadakis.

Vereen joins a large group of former Patriots players already in the media. Damien Woody, Randy Moss, Tedy Bruschi and Rob Ninkovich are on ESPN; Willie McGinnest is on NFL Network.

Vereen spent four seasons with the New England Patriots after they selected him in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft. In New England’s win in Super Bowl XLIX to cap the 2014 season, he had a game-high 11 receptions for 64 yards. Following that, he joined the New York Giants for three seasons before retiring from the NFL in April.
