Report: Redskins worked out Sam Houston State WR Davion Davis

The Washington Redskins continue to work through the draft process at wideout.

One of the most recent items on this front was the Redskins holding a workout with Davion Davis out of Sam Houston State, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

Davis is a 5’11”, 185-pound wideout who put up 10 touchdowns in seven games last season and another 17 the year prior for the Bearkats.

Obviously, questions about Davis’ level of competition, not to mention a season-ending injury, are something NFL teams want to figure out. But the Redskins taking a look means he’s a name to keep in mind outside of the draft’s first two rounds.

As always, wideout is a prominent need for a Redskins team that hasn’t had ideal return on some of its bigger moves at the position lately.
