Report: Redskins to work out free agent Jake Fisher

The Washington Redskins will work out one of free agency’s more interesting names by Thursday.

According to ESPN’s John Keim, the Redskins will work out former Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle Jake Fisher — as a tight end.

Fisher, a second-round pick in 2015, decided to drop weight and change positions this offseason after failing to latch on as a lineman over four years in Cincinnati.

Now 25, Fisher had a few injuries and a heart surgery hold him back from getting on the field consistently. Interestingly, he was the guy the Bengals made an extra eligible receiver in certain packages.

The Redskins have plenty of depth at tight end with guys like Jeremy Sprinkle, but none have the intriguing versatility Fisher presents.
