Report: Redskins to sign free-agent LB Noah Spence

The Washington Redskins are reportedly taking a chance on free-agent linebacker Noah Spence.

ESPN’s Jenna Laine had the report: “Source tells me that the Redskins are planning to sign former Bucs outside linebacker Noah Spence tomorrow. Spence worked out for them last week. He also worked out for the Bears today, along with the Bills two weeks ago.”

Spence, 25, is a former second-round pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who got waived at the end of August and had a visit with the Buffalo Bills in early September before a meet with Washington.

The Eastern Kentucky product flashed as a rookie with 5.5 sacks, then fell off and only had one over the next two seasons.

At this point, the Redskins are out hunting for depth along the pass-rush and get a high-upside project here who still has plenty of time to turn his career around.

It is hard to say if and where the Redskins make a cut to add Spence, but they should have an official announcement out tomorrow.
