Report: Redskins shopping Zach Brown, in play for free agent C.J. Mosley

The Washington Redskins are reportedly looking to make a splash.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Redskins front office is looking to upgrade at inside linebacker under new positional coach Rob Ryan. This apparently includes shopping Zach Brown and Mason Foster.

It also includes going after free-agent linebacker C.J. Mosley, formerly of the Baltimore Ravens.

Mosley is one of the NFL’s best young linebackers and will need to be paid as such. Luckily, moving either veteran would enable this — Brown has a cap hit of $8.75 million next season, Foster $4.25 million.

Brown, notably, had some tweets talking about the coaching staff and fans go viral, signaling his days with the team weren’t long.

Mosley, of course, will be one of the market’s hottest names and the Redskins have cap and trade hurdles to clear before they can think about bringing him aboard when the market opens at 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
